Background

I started in packaging straight out of university, joining a corrugated board manufacturer in the East Midlands as a junior production planner. Over the next decade I worked across manufacturing, sales and technical roles — eventually running the commercial team for a medium-sized corrugated packaging company.

In 2018 I went independent, working as a packaging consultant for businesses that need an objective view on their packaging specifications, supplier relationships and costs. My clients range from growing e-commerce businesses to established manufacturers looking to reduce packaging waste.

I set up this blog to share what I know without the commercial filter you get from most packaging industry content. My views on specific products and suppliers are my own.
